Unique Trail Lanzarote by Joma makes its debut in 2026 with four races that all end in the same place, the Mirador del Río, on courses that cross five municipalities. It is run by Summits Sports Events and K3 Servicios Deportivos Integrales, with Joel Delgado and Juan Antonio Carreño “Chico” as race directors, and backed by the Cabildo de Lanzarote and the councils of Yaiza, San Bartolomé, Haría, Teguise and Tías.

It is a first edition, but not a start from nothing: on 18 August 2026 it had already passed 400 entries, with close to 40 % of the field from outside the province of Las Palmas and 35 % women.

To run the 67 km you have to prove a trail marathon

This is the requirement that can leave somebody out, and it is on neither the poster nor the entry form. The rules attached to RockTheSport, the ones you accept when you complete your entry, put it in article 5.3: “para la modalidad Ultra será necesario la acreditación de haber participado y finalizado una Maratón de trail (+ 40km) desde el 1 de enero de 2025 hasta la actualidad”.

So it is not a medical certificate, it is a result. You have to be able to show that you have finished a mountain race of more than 40 km dated 1 January 2025 or later. The rules the organiser posted on its own website in August have deleted that sentence, and their 5.3 only talks about the medical certificate, checked on 1 October 2026. Since the document you sign when entering is the platform’s one, the requirement applies to anyone signing up today: if you cannot prove that marathon, ask the organisers before you pay.

Two sets of rules live at once, and they differ on what matters

The organisers have two sets of rules published at the same time and both are still downloadable, checked on 1 October 2026. The one attached to RockTheSport is dated 17 March 2026 and runs to 10 pages; it is the one you accept when you enter. The one linked from the organiser’s website is dated 3 August 2026, is marked as final and runs to 15 pages; it is the one you read if you arrive through the website. Neither cancels the other, and where they disagree is exactly in what affects the race:

• What the distances are called: 67K, 46K, 23K and 12K in the March document; 65k, 46k, 22k and 11k in the August one. Prices and places are identical, so these are the same four races with two sets of labels. The transport document adds a third version and calls the short race “Haría 13 km”.
• The 67 km requirement: the March document demands it and the August one does not carry it, checked on 1 October 2026.
• Cut-off times: the March document publishes them; the August one includes none anywhere in the document, checked on 1 October 2026.
• Prize money: 400 EUR to the 67 km winner in the March document, 200 EUR in the August one.

Course and distances

Each distance has its own start and they all finish at the Mirador del Río:

• 67 km, Ultra Unique Trail Lanzarote, 2,870 m of climbing, starting in La Geria
• 46 km, Maratón del Jable, 2,082 m, starting in San Bartolomé
• 23 km, Experience, 1,202 m, starting at Peñas del Chache
• 12 km, Manriqueña, 641 m, starting in Haría
• Vertical Las Gracioseras, 400 m of climbing on the Risco de Famara, on Thursday the 15th
• Kinder Trail, on Friday the 16th, from 100 m to 1,000 m by age, for ages 4 to 15

The four races start on the morning of Saturday the 17th: the 67 km at 06:00 in La Geria, the 46 km at 07:00 in San Bartolomé, the 23 km at 08:00 in Peñas del Chache and the Manriqueña at 09:00 in Haría.

Cut-offs, those of the rules you accept when entering on RockTheSport: on the 67 km, 4 hours to Casa Cerdeña (kilometre 19) and 7 hours to Famara (kilometre 44); on the 46 km, 4 hours to Famara (kilometre 25). The August rules on the organiser’s website include no cut-off at all, checked on 1 October 2026.

The hiking route has gone, checked on 1 October 2026. The March rules listed it alongside the four Saturday races as “la modalidad senderismo”. The August document does not mention it once, the schedule on the organiser’s website does not list it and RockTheSport does not offer it as a format you can enter, checked on 1 October 2026. There is no notice that it was dropped: it was in the official sources and it has stopped being there. Until the organisers say something, do not count on it.

The Thursday vertical: the time is not settled, and you walk to the start

The schedule on the organiser’s website gives “18:00 Salida KV Las Gracioseras”. The August rules, in article 1.3, say the starts will be “por la tarde a partir de las 17:30 horas, en horario que será comunicado por la organización”, from 17:30 onwards at a time the organisers will announce, and they also date the race “jueves 15 de octubre de 2025”, with the wrong year. Half an hour of difference between two official sources, checked on 1 October 2026: until the organisers confirm the time, plan your afternoon from 17:30.

The same article adds a detail that costs you the start if you ignore it: “la salida se realizará desde un lugar accesible sólo a pie, para lo que habrá que recorrer una distancia aproximada de 2 kilómetros”. The start line can only be reached on foot, around 2 km of it. Those two kilometres are added to whatever time you have to be there, not taken off it.

The Kinder Trail: the platform charges for it, the rules give it free

There is no single answer here, there are two, and both are official. On RockTheSport the format appears as “KINDERTRAIL UTL” at “5,00 €”. Both sets of rules say the opposite: the March one puts “Gratis” in the price column of the Kids row and the August one puts “GRATUITO” in the INFANTIL row, both with 300 places. And the organiser’s website advertises it as “Inscripción gratuita (300 plazas)”, free entry with 300 places. Checked on 1 October 2026.

We are not choosing for you which of the two holds. If you are going to enter a child, ask the organisers what is charged before you reach the payment page, because the platform charges 5 EUR for something its own rules declare free.

Entry and prices

Entries go through Rockthesport and close on 13 October 2026 at 23:59. The top band applies now: 69 EUR for the 67 km, 55 EUR for the 46 km, 35 EUR for the 23 km and 25 EUR for the 12 km. The Vertical costs 25 EUR and the Diverse UTL is free; for the Kinder Trail, see above. The platform fee is charged on top. The opening date is still to be confirmed, because the official sources give three different versions, checked on 1 October 2026; the closing date is the same in all of them.

Places are capped per distance: 200 on the 67, 250 on the 46, 300 on the 23, 350 on the 12 and 300 in the children’s race. Distance changes, transfers and cancellations with a refund, minus a 10 EUR fee, are accepted up to 25 days before.

Entry includes a race bag, technical shirt, chip, aid stations, insurance, medical support, a recovery area and official photos; on the 67, 46 and 23 km, a finish-line massage too.

Mandatory kit

On every distance: a charged phone with coverage, using the number given at registration; a water container of 1 litre on the 67 and 46 km and half a litre on the 23 and 12 km; and your own cup, because the aid stations have none. Kit is checked in the call room.

Transport: runner coaches and a shuttle to the Mirador

The organisers published the transport plan on 9 September 2026. These are two separate services and it pays not to mix them up.

For runners, a return coach at 11 EUR, booked only when you enter, choosing your pick-up point there. There are four, the same for every distance: the Hotel Radisson in Costa Teguise, the Cabildo esplanade car park in Arrecife, the Hotel Seaside Los Jameos in Puerto del Carmen and the Hotel Mynd Yaiza in Playa Blanca. Coaches leave at 04:30 for the ultra, 05:30 for the marathon, 06:30 for the middle distance and 07:30 for the short race in Haría, with runners asked to be there a quarter of an hour earlier in each case. From the finish there are return coaches roughly every 45 minutes to those same four points. Whoever does not book it with their entry goes without it.

For family and spectators, a free shuttle between Haría, by the cemetery, and the Mirador del Río, there and back every 40 to 45 minutes. The finish sits at a viewpoint on a narrow road and the organisers specifically ask people to leave the car behind.

Planning your race

Numbers are collected on Thursday the 15th from 17:00 to 20:00 and on Friday the 16th from 10:00 to 13:00 and 16:00 to 20:00. All four races pay prize money: the scale in the RockTheSport rules runs from 400 EUR for the 67 km winner down to 30 EUR for third place on the 12 km, plus an extra prize for the first Lanzarote resident on each distance. The August document drops the top of the 67 km to 200 EUR, as explained above.
