Event information
About the event
The Lanzarote International Running Challenge is the Club La Santa endurance challenge, and in 2026 it reaches its 37th edition. It is four races on four consecutive days, from Sunday 22 to Wednesday 25 November, on tarmac, dirt and sand.
You do not have to do all four. You can run a single race, and anyone who completes the whole cycle covers 49 kilometres across four mornings.
The four races
| Day | Race | Distance | Terrain |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sunday 22 | Vince Regan Memorial Classic Road Run | 10 km | Three laps of the La Santa lagoon, almost all tarmac |
| Monday 23 | Ridge Run | 13 km | Dirt tracks and road around a volcano |
| Tuesday 24 | Beach Run | 5 km | Two laps on soft sand, at Los Pocillos |
| Wednesday 25 | La Vuelta de Tinajo | 21 km | Tarmac, dirt tracks and 300 metres of track surface in the stadium |
The first three start at 09:00 and Wednesday’s half marathon at 08:00.
The Classic Road Run and the Ridge Run start and finish at the Club La Santa stadium. The Beach Run is run away from the resort, on Los Pocillos beach, in Puerto del Carmen, so there is a transfer that day. And La Vuelta de Tinajo goes from Tinajo to Club La Santa and finishes with a partial lap of the athletics track.
The order is not accidental: fast tarmac first, dirt next, sand in the middle to punish the calves and the half marathon at the end, with three races already in the legs.
Registration
Registration is open and closes on 16 November 2026 at 12:00 CET, which is 11:00 Canary time.
The price depends on how many races you do and when you sign up. From 29 September the high rate applies, running from 40.70 EUR for a single race to 124.30 EUR for the full challenge. Up to 28 September the range is 32.50 to 105.60 EUR, and anyone who signed up in the opening week, in December 2025, paid between 29.25 and 95.10.
Categories are by age group, from 18 and 19 years old up to 85 or over. Entry includes accident insurance, and anyone who finishes the four races gets the finisher medal.
Planning your race
Four consecutive mornings of racing ask more of your recovery management than of your fitness. The sand of the Beach Run is the real load peak of the week, even though it is only 5 kilometres: it is the day that leaves the most soreness ahead of Wednesday’s half marathon.
Bring two pairs of shoes, one for tarmac and one you do not mind dirtying on dirt and sand. In November the sun rises around 07:30 in Lanzarote, so Wednesday’s 08:00 start is run in fresh, newly arrived light.
The Night Run at Club La Santa is run on Saturday 21, the day before. Anyone travelling in can link the two events in the same week. And the Lanzarote International Marathon comes on 3 December, eight days later.
