About the event

The 4 Stage Mountain Bike Race Lanzarote reaches its twenty-fourth edition in 2026 and is raced from Thursday 3 to Sunday 6 September, based at Club La Santa. It is four days of racing for MTB and for e-bike, with the third day scoring as UCI XCMS S1, which means it awards points for the Union Cycliste Internationale world ranking.

The race has moved in the calendar. The organisers explain that the new date responds “directly to the requests and suggestions of the participants themselves, seeking to improve race conditions and the general logistics of the event”. Among the first confirmed riders they announced Claudia Galicia and Anita González.

The four stages

The first stage sets the tone: 21 kilometres against the clock, climbing from sea level at Caleta de Famara up to the Ermita de Las Nieves, at the top of the Risco. You ride alone, with no wheel to sit on, and with the trade wind in your face on the upper section.

Starts are at 09:00 on all four days. On the second stage the e-bikes start at 09:40 and on the third at 11:30. The prize-giving is on Sunday at 14:00.

Who can race

You do not have to ride all four stages. There is a 4-stage entry and a 2-stage entry (Saturday and Sunday), and the cadets of 15 and 16 and the juniors of 17 and 18 ride only the fourth.

The categories are cadet, junior, elite from 19 to 29, master 30, 40, 50 and 60, and e-bike separately.

Registration

Entries closed on 27 August 2026 at 23:59. The last price band, in force since 19 June, was 260 EUR for the four stages, 130 EUR for the two and 65 EUR for the single stage for cadets and juniors.

The entry includes organisation and traffic management, volunteers, on-course feed stations, participant jersey, bottle, medal and finisher certificate, timing and results, and medical assistance.

For prizes, the first ten in the UCI elite general classification are paid in cash. The age-group podiums from master 30 upwards take a trophy and vouchers of 60, 50 and 40 EUR, and the King and Queen of the Mountain of the third stage, 300 EUR gross each.

Planning notes

This is dry, abrasive volcanic terrain: tyres with a tough casing and sealant, rather than fast rubber. The wind does more damage here than the elevation gain, above all on the Jable, and four days back to back punish you by accumulation more than by the difficulty of any single stage.

If you are coming to watch rather than race, Thursday on the climb to Las Nieves is the best spot of the weekend: the riders come past one by one and at time-trial pace.
