About the event

Yaiza Extremo Sur is a mountain bike and gravel race that crosses Lanzarote from north to south and finishes in Playa Blanca. It is run by Yaiza town council and Cronoline Eventos with the Canary Islands cycling federation.

What is confirmed for 2026, and what is not

There is a date, but there are no rules. The 2026 official calendar of the Canary Islands cycling federation places the mountain bike race on Saturday 7 November 2026 and the youth school race on Sunday 8 November 2026. That calendar is the only source giving dates.

Everything else is unpublished. As of 20 August 2026 the yaizaextremosur.es domain does not respond and the 2026 entry page returns a 404: no rules, no prices, no schedule, no confirmed distances, no entry opening date and no edition number.

One more warning about the running order: in 2025 it was the other way round, the children’s race on the Saturday and the adults on the Sunday. That order can still change once the organisers publish their programme.

How the 2025 edition worked

Everything below is 2025 data, from the sixth edition on Sunday 23 November 2025, with the children’s race on Saturday 22. It shows what the format looks like; it is not information about 2026.

The 100 km mountain bike and gravel races started at 08:00 from Órzola, at Playa de Atrás in Haría, and the 40 km mountain bike race at 11:00 from Los Dolores, in Mancha Blanca (Tinajo). Both finished on Calle la Concha in Playa Blanca, along roads open to traffic and farm tracks.

Aid stations on the 100 km were at kilometres 27 (liquid only), 47, 64, 83 and 87.5, and doubled as cut-offs: 10:00 at km 27, 11:45 at 47, 12:50 at 64 and 14:00 at 83, with the format closing at 15:30. The 40 km had one, at km 27. No cups were handed out.

In 2025 the 40 km cost 40 EUR for the first 50 entries and 50 EUR after that; the 100 km mountain bike and gravel races 55 EUR and then 70 EUR; the children’s race 10 EUR. Riders without a licence added 15 EUR and were covered by the organisers’ insurance. Moving bike and rider from Playa Blanca to Órzola cost 15 EUR on top, with the bus leaving at 06:00. Licences were shown at bib collection, and an approved helmet and the chipped number plate were compulsory. Minimum age was 15 on the 40 km and 17 on the 100 km.

MTB 40 km, 92 finishers. Karel Henricus Jules Pruijn (Luyma CD Multihogar Cantabria) 1:33:18, Tanausú Hernández Alonso (Gran Canaria Bike Team) 1:40:40 and Yeray de León Duarte (C.D. Latitud 29) 1:42:43. Women: Juliana Hurtado 2:17:20, Mayte Pío Fleitas 2:24:30 and Blanca Bayarri Sebastià (Latidos Nueve) 2:28:01.

MTB 100 km, 99 finishers. Jonathan Beltrán Opción (Velosa) 4:03:03, Néstor Rodríguez Díaz (RIU Team) 4:08:24 and José Agustín Pérez Morera (C.C. El Aljibe) 4:13:28. Women: Lydia Dant (Passion Fit) 4:51:01, Yurena Alonso Chinea (Velosa) 5:11:06 and Loren Ward (Passion Fit) 5:27:50.

Gravel 100 km, 20 finishers, then the Canary Islands gravel championship. Cristian Cejas Hernández (C.D. Latitud 29) 3:47:39, Samuel Martín Hernández (Camping Nauta Ulevel) 3:54:17 and Antonio Manuel Padrón García (Velosa) 3:59:34. Women: Tessa Kortekaas (Cannondale ISB Sport) 5:04:37 and Isabel Campos Marrero (Loro Parque Los Silos Natural) 5:34:42.

Planning ahead

With things as they stand, do not book flights around the federation calendar date until the organisers publish a programme. If the format repeats, the 100 km needs its own logistics: it is point to point, and the bike transfer was booked separately.
