Carrera de Mascaritas 2026: results and podiums in Tinajo
Around 350 runners in Tinajo's carnival race. Tinguaro Quintero and Naomi Hodel won the 10.4 km; Tanausú Cabrera and Cristina Molina took the 5.2 km.

Tinguaro Quintero and Naomi Hodel won the Carrera de Mascaritas in Tinajo on Saturday 7 March 2026. Quintero, of Tenerife CajaCanarias, stopped the clock at 42:15 over the 10.4 kilometres of the main race. Hodel was the first woman home in 49:25. Around 350 runners started the carnival race, organised by Tinajo town council with Cronoline.
Over the long distance, Quintero finished ahead of Víctor Manuel González, of Todo por un sueño, and Samu Fernández, of EAMJ Playas de Jandía. None of the published reports carries the times of second and third, so the winning margin cannot be given. In the women’s race, Hodel crossed the line before Mónika Heiden and María Solís.

The short race, over 5.2 kilometres, was the opening round of the 2026 Tinajo popular race series, and the pace there was set by Tanausú Cabrera Albelo, of CM El Jable, in 19:38. Dani García, of Cavelanz, and Aitami Hernández, of MC2 Action, followed him home. Cristina Molina, of Todo por un sueño, won the women’s race in 25:07 ahead of Johanna Vasara and Mónica García.

Mascaritas bibs are split between licensed runners and neighbours in fancy dress, and the two share the same start. The council advertises 5 and 10 kilometres; the results list 5.2 and 10.4. The programme also included children’s races by age group, for which the organisers published no classifications.
One note for anyone hunting the race in listings: the island council calendar still shows it on 28 February, but Tinajo town council set it for 7 March, and that is the day it was run.
Mascaritas opens the Tinajo popular race series, which continues with Trail La Vegueta, the Milla Popular de La Santa, Tinajo You Trail, Trail Caldera del Cuchillo and the Club La Santa Night Run.
