Trail La Vegueta
A trail race in La Vegueta with three listed distances and a local feel, based on volcanic terrain in Tinajo.
Event information
About the event
Trail La Vegueta ran its 12th edition on Friday 26 and Saturday 27 June 2026, in the village of La Vegueta, in Tinajo. It is organised by the La Vegueta festival committee together with the Tinajo sports department, Sam Parfums and Cronoline Eventos, and it sits inside the Nuestra Señora de Regla village fiestas. The races go off late in the afternoon, at 17:00, to dodge the June heat.
Course and distances
Start and finish at Calle la Morra 18, inside the village itself, for all four formats.
- 10.5 km, Saturday at 17:00. It heads out towards Yuco, crosses the sand-covered farmland and makes a full loop of the volcanic cone west of the village, between La Vegueta and Tinajo. It scores for the Tinajo popular races cup.
- 5.5 km, Saturday at 17:05.
- Guided walk, straight afterwards, on the same 5.5 km loop.
- Chinijos Trail, the children’s race, on the Friday at 18:00.
The ground is trail and dirt track between fields. Elevation gain is published nowhere, neither in the rules nor on the official course maps. The organisers do not close the roads: the route shares public tracks and roads, and runners have to obey traffic rules.
Aid stations double as checkpoints, but the rules do not say how many there are or where. No cups are handed out, so your own water container is compulsory kit alongside the bib and chip. A charged phone, trail shoes and clothing, a cap, sun cream and photo ID are recommended; poles are the only aid allowed. There is a cut-off on the 10 km only, and its time is announced at bib collection or in the pre-race briefing.
Entry and prices
Entries opened on Friday 10 April and closed on Wednesday 24 June 2026 at 23:59, or on reaching the entry limit. One price throughout, with no increases: 15 EUR for the 10.5 km, 10 EUR for the 5.5 km, 6 EUR for the walk and 3 EUR for the Chinijos Trail. No refunds and no transfers.
Bibs were handed out on Friday 26 from 16:00, closing at 17:30 for the Chinijos Trail and at 20:00 for everyone else.
Categories, men’s and women’s alike, run Infantil (12-14), Cadete (15-16), Juvenil (17-18), Junior (19-20), Promesa (21-23), Senior (24-39), Veteran A (40-49), Veteran B (50-59) and Veteran C (60 and over), by age on 31 December of the race year.

Planning for next time
Everything happens inside the village, so from the finish area you can watch the whole race and stay for the prize-giving, which was at 18:30 on the Saturday. The two course maps are published as JPG and KMZ on the official website, handy for a recce before the next edition.
The next trail in Tinajo is Tinajo You Trail, on 4 and 5 September, which also scores for the same cup.
