About the event
Sailfish Lanzarote Open Water was planned for 16 May 2026 in Puerto del Carmen, but the organiser communicated the cancellation of the edition. This page remains to avoid calendar confusion.
Route and distances
The race was planned as an open-water swim at Playa Grande, a common swimming and triathlon area. Because it is cancelled, the course should not be used as operational information.
Registration and status
There is no active 2026 entry. Any communication about refunds, postponement or future editions should be checked through the official Lanzarote Open Water channels, which we list further down in the organiser block, Sands Beach Active. Worth knowing: in September 2026 their website was still advertising the 16 May date as if the race were going ahead, so their social profiles are the more reliable source for the current status.
Planning notes
If you intended to swim that weekend, look for safe training alternatives and always check sea state, permitted areas and support. Do not turn up expecting an organised race.
