About the event

The Fisiosan 5K is the charity run and walk of Playa Honda, in the municipality of San Bartolomé. It is organised by the Fisiosan physiotherapy clinic together with the sports department of San Bartolomé town hall, and every edition raises money for a different island association.

That cause changes the name of the race each year, which is exactly why it is hard to track: it was FISIOSAN INCLUSIVA 5K in 2023, FISIOSAN ELA 5K in 2024, when the money went to Alanem, the Lanzarote motor neurone disease association, and FISIOSAN 5K in 2025.

Course and distances

Start and finish on Avenida de Playa Honda, with almost two kilometres of the course running on beach sand. That detail decides your shoe choice: this is not a road 5K, and you want something you do not mind soaking or filling with sand.

Alongside the 5 km there is a walk of around 4 kilometres, out and back along the same seafront, and children’s races by age group, from 2 to 11 years old. There is also a solidarity bib for anyone who wants to support the cause without running.

In 2025 the 5 km set off at 17:00 and in 2023 at 11:00, so this is not a night race: it is run in daylight.

The 2026 edition has not been announced

As of 20 August 2026 there is no date published anywhere: not on the Fisiosan website, not on the entry platform, not in the Cabildo’s sports calendar and not in the local press.

There is a reason it is so confusing to look for. The official website is out of date and keeps the 2023, 2024 and 2025 pages live at the same time, with no year in the title. It is easy to open one and take it for the next edition when it is three years old. The most recent page was published in August 2025.

No prices have been published for 2025 or 2026 either. The last ones on record are from 2024: 12 EUR for adults, 8 EUR for children and 10 EUR for the solidarity bib. Treat them as a guide, not as a current fee.

The fourth edition, the last confirmed one

It was run on Saturday 4 October 2025, with 560 participants, from two-year-olds to a runner of 86, and raised 3,180 EUR for Saltamos las Barreras, the association working on sporting inclusion for pupils with special educational needs.

In the 5 km, Tinguaro Quintero won in 16:40 ahead of Rayco Hernández Morales (17:15) and Akorán Rodríguez (17:27). In the women’s race Sara Muñoz won in 24:03, followed by Lucía Hernández (24:19) and Sarah Cristopher (25:12).

Planning your race

The seafront is a flat promenade by the sea, so anyone coming to watch sees the whole race almost without moving, and the sand section is the best spot for photographs.
