Fisiosan 5K 2026: entries close a week before the race
The fifth edition is run on 3 October in Playa Honda, but entries close on 26 September and can close sooner if it fills up. This year brings a mixed-pair category, and the money goes to a wheelchair hockey team.

The Fisiosan 5K reaches its fifth edition on Saturday 3 October 2026 on the seafront avenue of Playa Honda, and the first thing to know about it has nothing to do with race day: entries close on 26 September at 23:59, a week before the race is run. The rules add a condition almost nobody reads: they close that day “or when the entry limit is reached”, and that limit is published nowhere. Anyone planning to run it should not leave it to the last day.
The times, which are not the ones they look like
The entry platform announces the event start at 17:00, and that catches people out: at that hour the children’s races begin, not the adult one.

Everything starts and finishes on the Guacimeta esplanade, the four children’s races included. The organisers ask everyone to be in the start area half an hour beforehand.
Five formats, and the press only counts two
The pieces published this week by the island’s media mention 15 euros for adults and 10 for children. That is correct and incomplete. What can actually be entered is this:
- Fisiosan 5K: 15 euros, from age 12.
- Fisiosan 5K mixed pairs: 30 euros per pair.
- The walk, around 4 km: 15 euros, all ages.
- Children’s: 10 euros, up to age 11.
- Charity bib, without running: 10 euros.
The adult entry includes a personalised bib and a shirt; the children’s one adds a medal for everyone who finishes.
The 2026 novelty: the fastest mixed pair
It is the one genuinely new thing this year and it appears in no press release, only in the rules: there is a prize for the best mixed pair in the 5K, on a single condition — both must cross the line together. It is a category that changes the race for whoever picks it, because it stops being run against the clock and starts being run at someone else’s pace.
There is a second thing nobody has reported either: a “quiet corner” staffed by therapists for children with special needs attending that day.
The route: two kilometres of it are sand
The 5K runs 2.5 km out along the avenue, from Guacimeta to Playa de la Concha, and comes back on an equivalent line of which around two kilometres run along the beach, entering at Playa del Curita and leaving at Playa de los Perros. The entry and exit points on the sand are signposted.
Half the return being beach is not a detail: it changes the shoes, the pace and how the times should be read. The walk, by contrast, touches no sand: it goes from Guacimeta to the Emmax restaurant and back along the avenue.
There are two aid stations, one at halfway and one at the start and finish, the latter with fruit.
Where the money goes
The 2026 beneficiary is CD UNINSU, a wheelchair hockey team from Lanzarote, recently founded, made up of young people with varying degrees of functional diversity. For several of them it is the only route they have to adapted sport on the island.
On how much reaches the club it is worth being exact, because not everyone tells it the same way. Several outlets have published that “everything raised” goes to CD UNINSU. The official rules say something else: that “a proportional part of each entry” goes to the club, and that the 10-euro charity bib goes to it “in full”. What the race’s own document supports is that, and that is what we publish. There will also be collection boxes at a stand on race day.
The previous years give a reference: in 2025 the race donated 3,180 euros to Saltamos las Barreras, and in 2024, 2,770 euros to Sentir TEA.
Bibs are collected on the Friday, and only on the Friday
Friday 2 October, ground floor of the Deiland shopping centre, 11:00 to 18:00. You need the entry confirmation or your ID, and someone else can collect it with the right documents. The rules make no provision for collection on race day, so anyone who cannot go on the Friday has to send somebody.
What the last edition left
The fourth edition, on 4 October 2025, drew 560 participants across the three formats, from two-year-olds to an 86-year-old walker. The fastest 5K time was 16:40 and the fastest women’s time 24:03.
We do not give the podium names here, for the usual reason in this house: the 5K admits runners from age 12 and its results publish neither age nor category, so there is no way to know whether any of those finishers was under 18. The times are public and checkable; the names are with the outlet that published them.
The race is organised by the Fisiosan physiotherapy centre and the sports department of San Bartolomé council, with Cronoline Eventos handling technical direction and timing. Refunds closed on 3 September: from then on, entries are not refundable.
