La Tiñosa Open Water Swim 2026: results and podiums
172 swimmers classified over 1,500 metres at the El Poril cove. The Nadamas club took all six places on the overall men's and women's podiums.

Andreu Jaén won the 1,500 metres of the second La Tiñosa open water swim in 14:14 and Naira Jaén was the first woman in 15:05, on Saturday 1 August 2026 at the El Poril cove in Puerto del Carmen. The main race had 172 classified swimmers. Lanzarote Deportiva, which presents the two winners as siblings, put the whole day at close to 200 swimmers across all distances.
The swim was organised by C.D. 4elementos MD and opened the twelfth Lanzarote Open Water Swimming Cup, which runs until November. The course is a triangle in La Tiñosa bay, between the fishing harbour and the cove, with one buoy to the north and one to the south, both left to starboard.

All six swim for the same club, Nadamas, which took every place on both podiums. Naira Jaén was also fourth in the combined overall classification, ahead of 168 swimmers.
How the field broke down
Of the 172 classified, 103 were men and 69 women. The race was open to swimmers born in 2012 or earlier, with categories running from Infantil up to Máster L, for those born between 1947 and 1951. Ricardo Martín González, of CD Zero Wattios, was the best-placed swimmer from outside Nadamas among the leaders, in 15:14.
Before the long distance came the short races: 400 metres for the benjamín category, born in 2015 and 2016, and 800 metres for alevines, born in 2013 and 2014. The programme also included 50 metres for pre-benjamines from 2017 and 2018. No classifications were published for those three races.
There were medals for the first three in each category, men and women, and trophies for the outright winners.
What comes next
La Tiñosa was the first of the Cup’s five rounds. The second was swum on 22 August in Arrecife, the San Ginés swim hosted by the Real Club Náutico, and the series continues with the Emmax crossing at Playa Honda, the Alejandro Candela and the Bahía de Playa Blanca.
One practical note for next year: accreditation was handed out only on the eve of the race, on Friday 31 July, not on the day. The whole cove is visible from the promenade and from the steps down to the water, so start, buoys and finish all fit in one glance.
