Event information
About the event
The MYND Magma Triatlón Lanzarote by Sports Club Puerto Calero was raced on Saturday 11 April 2026 in Playa Blanca, in its second edition. Summits Sports Events runs it together with the sports department of Yaiza town council, the Cabildo de Lanzarote and Sports Club Puerto Calero.
It does not appear on the Canary Islands Triathlon Federation calendar, so it is not part of the federated Canary circuit: it stands on its own, with olympic and sprint distances, solo or as a relay. The first edition was held on 12 April 2025 with a 400-place cap across both distances. The 2026 race was run in gusting wind and rain, and more than a hundred athletes still started.
Course and distances
This is a triathlon that hugs the coast. The swim starts off Playa Dorada heading towards Marina Rubicón, transition is set up between Marina Rubicón and Paseo de la Sal, the bike leg runs from Playa Blanca towards Maciot, and the run follows the seafront promenade between Paseo de la Sal and the Playa Flamingo area, finishing on Paseo de la Sal.
There is one number we are not publishing. Yaiza town council and the local press give a 750 m swim and 5 km run for the sprint, and 1,500 m and 10 km for the olympic. On the bike leg the sources disagree: the council material says 20 km and 40 km, while the organiser’s own page says 23 km and 37 km. We have not been able to settle it against the official race rules, so we give neither figure. If the exact mileage changes your gearing or your pacing plan, ask Summits Sports Events at summitssportsevents@gmail.com or on +34 606 554 307.
Entry
Entries for 2026 opened on 30 January and closed on Wednesday 8 April at 23:59, through RockTheSport. You could race solo or as a team, with both olympic and sprint relays. Entry included a race T-shirt, a swim cap, a bike bottle and a small backpack. We do not give the price: the fee table is published on the platform as an image and we have not been able to read it from any open source.

Planning your race
The race window runs from 08:00 to 16:00. The olympic starts first at 08:00 and the sprint at 09:00, so even the shorter race means an early alarm because transition is shared. Everything happens inside Playa Blanca, between Marina Rubicón and the promenade, which makes it easy on anyone coming to watch: you see the swim from the marina wall, the finish from Paseo de la Sal, and there are cafés right on the course.
April in the south of Lanzarote is usually dry and mild, but the 2026 edition made the point that the wind decides. The bike leg towards Maciot moves away from the sea and gains height, and into a gust it feels long. Pack spare glasses and do not trust the early morning forecast.
